InterStudy Prospectus Set: The Design Process
Lunatrix have been involved with InterStudy for several years,
helping them develop a strong brand identity and establish them
as one of the leading non profit making organisations taking American
students and finding them placements among universities in the
U.K, Ireland and South Africa respectively. Recently celebrating
their 25th anniversary as an organisation and 10 years operating
in the reformed South Africa. Our first challenge with the prospectus
design was reducing pages of information into the available page
space. We set up some page templates with the design that enabled
some regular page graphics and icons to reduce text information
into bulleted lists. Individual study centres were devoted 4 pages
of content each allowing for some nice spacing in the general
information pages. Each of the 3 main prospectus was colour coded
by country (UK illustrated above) inside pages were created in
2 colours to reduce print costs and this restriction actually
allowed us to develop some stylised improvations e.g. duotone
photographs and map graphics. Once the style was established the
general layout design proceeded quite quickly and all 3 prospectus
were pretty much completed within 6 weeks from starting including
text edits which is a fairly swift turnaround. Lunatrix have just
finished off the 2007-9 set of books as well as helping out with
marketing event pop up screens, branded pens and badges and we
are now looking at putting a generic lightweight brochure style
together as an introduction to the organisation.
